Sequels that surpassed the original.

What film sequels did you think surpassed the original and why?

Terminator 2
I love this film. The character relationships, the conflict between good technology and bad technology, the bond between John and the Terminator. And the ending was the icing on the cake.

Aliens
Another one by James Cameron. This film is one of my favourite films, mainly because it actually portrayed aliens in a scary manner. I loved that the action wasn't too over the top. Stuff wasn't blowing up left, right and centre, and what action there was never seemd out of place.

And who can forget the iconic line, 'Get away from her you b*tch!'

Star Wars 1-3 Naw, kidding.

The Dark Knight for sure. Also, The girl with the dragon tattoo was surpassed by the other two (I think at least). That's all I can think of from looking at my movies right now.

I hate to say it, but Clerks 2 might be a bit better than the first.
